100 Calorie Snacks to Pack

Applepeanutbuttermain_fullIt's easy to find snacks in the market that display a 100 calorie (or lower) count.   These product labels can help you eat less food and stick to the calories on your weight loss plan. Some of these snacks are healthy, but not all of them are.

There's no doubt that a small portion of junk food is better than a large portion of junk food.   But the success of the Biggest Loser Plan as well as the Positively Ageless plan is that the QUALITY of the calories is just as important as the QUANTITY.

Here are a few tips for healthy snack options that are close to 100 kcals each:

Edamame
  • 1/2 cup of salsa and 1/3 cup fat free cottage cheese
  • half an apple, sliced and spread with 2 teaspoons  peanut butter
  • 5 – 6 almonds and 1/2 cup grapes
  • An eight oz carton low-fat yogurt
  • One hard-boiled egg
  • Two tablespoons hummus with 1 cup of jicama slices
  • Edamame  (1/2 cup approx 120 kcals)
  • One 3 1/4" pomegranate
